Oops!
9:15 pm and I pretty much forgot my commitment to write every day. It’s hard to start a new habit, isn’t it? Almost as hard as breaking an old habit.
For three months now, I’ve tried to make it two weeks in a row without sugar and have yet to be successful with that one. Yesterday, I sat in a chair, clinging to the arms, fingernails cutting into the fabric as I waited for my craving for chocolate to pass. Right that moment I would have paid $100 for one square of rich dark chocolate.
It’s bedtime for Orlee so I’ll just add this picture of her with a frisbee stuck on her head and count four paragraphs as “Writing every day.”
Teresa, you’ve got this all wrong. The responsibility for your being inspired belongs to your muse. He needs to do his duty. Your slamming together of four paragraphs and a dog picture is not your fault. No apologies are needed for your writing as long as your muse calls in sick.
Dear Dane, the muse did call in sick but I’m demanding a doctor’s note and so far the muse has not been able to produce one.
The scoundrel!
I read something about journaling once . . . If you don’t know what you want to write about, start listing what you don’t want to write about. Soon something will be flowing.
So your writing about how you almost forgot to write made perfect sense to me.
Theresa, that’s a great writing prompt idea. Thanks!
Orlee looks like she’s into something every second! Good resource material, for sure!
Yes, Sally. As I was reading your comment I noticed her in the yard playing with something. She’d managed to dig under my compost bin, grab a slice of cantaloupe rind and was having the time of her life. Sigh.
Cute little bugger!
The Orlee pic definitely counts as writing every day! Habits are insane to get into and out of. Kind of like panty hose.
doing good, T. You made it before the deadline-still counts. And I heard it takes 3 weeks to make/break a habit. So you’re 1/3 of the way there? http://www.jessicaconoley.com/

⅓ of the way huh? I should get a calendar and mark off the days. Except that would be just one more thing I would have to remember to do. Thankfully I have friends that count better than I do.
Sure the four paragraphs work very well including the pic of your dog. So dang cute.
It’s a good thing she’s cute or she wouldn’t be able to get away with half the stuff she does. LOL
So counted. Love the dog shot.
Thanks, Janet. At the end of the month, I will remember that dog pictures count.
